Rakesh, Director (Programme & Partnerships) of India Labourline at Aajeevika Bureau, has over 15 years of experience in grant-making, development research, and program implementation. Previously, he was the Theme Manager for the Migrant and Informal Sector Workers portfolio at Azim Premji Foundation (Philanthropy). Rakesh has also worked as a Research Consultant on Access to Urban Land, Urban Planning History, Caste in Urban India, Informal Sector Workers, and Social Security. At the National Law School of India University, he contributed to drafting the Karnataka State Rules for the National Food Security Act, 2013. His roles in various NGOs have addressed Child Rights, Indigenous Community Rights, Labour Rights, and more. Rakesh holds a Master’s degree in International Development Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Science and a PG Diploma in Child Rights Law from NLSIU.
Santosh has over 25 years of experience and is the Director (Knowledge & Learning) of India Labourline at Aajeevika Bureau. He guides and supervises legal aid and education for migrant workers and their families. He also mentors collectives of migrant workers and liaises with government departments, corporates, and other NGOs. Previously, Santosh worked at the Indian Institute of Health Management and Research, Jaipur. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Shramjivi College (Udaipur) and a Master’s in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Rajasthan. Santosh can be reached at
Over the course of his 30-year career, Rajiv has held leadership roles in a range of non-profit organizations, implementing programs, conducting research, and providing advice and guidance to NGOs, donors, and the government in Rajasthan. Rajiv worked for many years with the tribal communities of Southern Rajasthan, implementing large-scale agricultural change programs. The idea of the Aajeevika Bureau took seed at this time when Rajiv saw a significant change in livelihoods from farming to wage labor. Rajiv was named an Ashoka Fellow (2005) and India Social Entrepreneur of the Year (2010). He holds a degree in rural management from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand. Divya has long years of experience in policy analysis, advocacy and research, non-profit strategy, management, and fund-raising. Building on her experience in direct grassroots action in establishing and managing worker centers in high migration geographies, she has published widely on issues related to migration and informality on various academic and popular platforms. She has also made representations on the issue in several national and international fora, including at the Niti Ayog where she was a member of the sub-committee on labour migration. Divya is a recipient of many prestigious fellowships including the Fulbright- Nehru Fellowship for Leadership Development, the Joint-Japan World Bank Scholarship, and the Open Society Fellowship for Rights and Governance. Anusha R is currently working as the Regional Coordinator (South) with India Labourline. Her background is in law and anthropology. She has been engaged in research and fieldwork pertaining to different aspects of unorganized labour rights in her career so far.
Vishal Kamble is a Regional Coordinator (West Region) at India Labour Line in Mumbai. He has previously worked with UNICEF, Jan Sahas, and other labor-centric organizations. Vishal has also been involved in advocacy work for Dalit and nomadic tribes, with specif focus on labor rights at national and international levels. He holds a Master’s degree in Gender Studies from TISS Mumbai and another Master’s in Labour Policies and Globalisation from BSE Berlin, Germany.
:Kabita Rani Kumar has a diverse background in social work and NGO management with experience of 15 years. Her current role as Regional Coordinator for Aajeevika Bureau in the North zone (Gurgaon) involves leading a team of case managers that helps in mediating between the workers and employer’s. She has the experience of working with UNHCR for refugees and migrants rights. As a programme Coordinator in SEWA BHARAT she has worked for women empowerment, digital financial literacy and financial inclusion
Adheena is a dedicated lawyer and researcher with a passion for promoting access to justice. She has two years of experience in matters involving civil rights and criminal law.
Pallavi Maurya holds an LLB from Amity University and is a legal professional with a robust background in research and legal writing. As a Programme Officer for the North Zone, she leverages her expertise to enhance legal awareness and access to justice in the community. Her strong analytical skills and commitment to social justice enable her to effectively address legal challenges and implement impactful programs. Pallavi is dedicated to empowering individuals through knowledge and advocacy, making a meaningful contribution to the field of law.
